Yesterday in Russia we celebrated the Day of Pelmen. Pelmen is a dumpling, a traditional Russian dish, first invented in my region – Udmurtia. The name "dumpling" translated from Udmurt language literally means a "bread ear". Our team went through the “dumpling quest». It was a lot of fun, especially the competition with the bee collecting pollen — bright balls. The guy looking like a present on a photo is not who he seems to be. This image simbolizes “hinkal” - a dumpling shaped like a bag. It’s nice to know something about the traditions of the area I live in. I was very curious to see live how wool is spun. Tatyana from the city of Sarapul (65 km from my city of Izhevsk) showed how she takes some wool and twists it into a thin thread. She used an old spinning wheel for that. It was unusual to know people don’t wash wool before spinning. They only wash the ready socks, sweaters and the other clothes knitted from a woolen thread. #пельменьфест #ВсемирныйДеньПельменя #Удмуртия #Ижевск #Пельменьфест2022 #ПуконКорка #pelmenfest #деньпельменя2022 #traditionaldish #russiantraditions #русскиетрадиции #пельмени #праздник #зима #winter #традиционноеблюдо #PelnemDay #fun #отдых #веселье
